Brian Doub has been around the Annapolis area most of his life and has been a permanent resident for the last twenty-five years. Brian loves the area, making it the perfect spot for Mosquito Hunters of Central Chesapeake. “In my opinion, the Chesapeake Bay and its environs is one of the most spectacular places I’ve ever been. It is a wealth of beauty. The climate is great. The proximity to DC and Baltimore gives easy access to the dynamics of larger cities.”

The most prominent feature of the area is the Chesapeake Bay. It is the largest estuary in the US and is truly a one-of-a-kind treasure. Aside from that, Annapolis is full of historical landmarks including the residence of signers of the Declaration of Independence, the Naval Academy and St. Johns College. It is the capital of Maryland and residence of our Governor. It claims to be the sailing capital of the world. That would be hard to argue on a sunny day with ten knots of breeze. The waters are filled with college fleets and a multitude of club racers competing as well as recreational boaters and commercial traffic. It is a site to see a fleet of one hundred plus boats coming into the finish line in Annapolis harbor under beautiful spinnakers.

Born at St. Agnes hospital in Baltimore where his grandfather was the first intern, Brian spent summers in Annapolis starting at age five. He attended McDonogh School in Baltimore, then went on to college at Washington & Lee University, followed by Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland. Brian received degrees in History, Electrical Engineering, and a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management.

Brian was CFO at a company he helped grow from $25 million per year to $425 million and then sold to a private equity group. He exited soon thereafter. “Starting a new venture like Mosquito Hunters seemed like a great challenge. Having the support of a franchise makes it a bit less daunting. What I had perceived as my biggest weakness has become the most exciting part of the business for me. I love the sales side of the business and being able to work with customers. There is nothing more satisfying than having a customer say, because of the work we do, they are finally able to enjoy the environment they have worked so hard to create.”

Brian and his wife have known each other for forty years and have been married for the last twenty years. They have had the privilege and joy of raising five wonderful kids together; three boys and two girls and were recently blessed with their third grandchild, and first grandson, Gavin.

The Doub family are pet lovers. They currently have two dogs, a Welsh Terrier, and a mutt that one of their daughters found as a stray in Steamboat Springs, CO. He has not left Brian’s side since he arrived in the East Coast. They also have a cat, Romeo. All the fisherman in their neighborhood know to keep a close eye on their catch. If they are not attentive, it will soon be Romeo’s lunch.

The Doub’s now live on the Severn River so boating, particularly sailing, is a passion. Brian tries to get out in the woods for long hikes with the dogs a few times a week. He and his wife both enjoy cooking and spend much time reading. They are also avid snow skiers. “When the mosquitos are dormant, I am able to get out west and make a few turns.”

What sets Mosquito Hunters of Chesapeake apart is their professionalism and the care they take to do the best job for their customers. “So frequently I have heard, the guys we used before spent little time on the job. We try to stay abreast of the latest products, train our people well, and do not cut corners. We are not perfect, but we will always give our best effort to provide the best service we can.”
