Tony and Candace Hurman have lived in the South Jacksonville area for nine years. One of Tony’s favorite things about the area are the unique styles of homes from contemporary, traditional, modern, to beach homes. Another amazing thing about the area is The St. Johns River. It is unique in that it is only one of two rivers in the world that flows North; the other river in the world that does this is the Nile River.
These unique qualities made Jacksonville East-Atlantic Beach the perfect place for a Mosquito Hunters.
Tony was looking for a new lease on life by trying something different and after twenty years of technology his body and mind just needed to experience newness. “The most exciting thing about the new venture is that moment when a seed that you plant unexpectantly grows into something good.” He is also eager to help his community take back their yards from mosquitos, ticks, and fleas.
Tony has a B.A. in Information Systems – Internetworking Technology attained from Strayer University 2011. Served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps as a Signal Systems Support Specialist (MOS 25U) from 1999 to 2009 and is a decorated Combat Veteran. After honorable discharge he transitioned to government defense contracting, working for various government entities including the National Security Agency and in the Banking industry as a Network Security Engineer.
Tony has over twenty years’ experience in the IT/Technology profession. His hobbies include automobiles, closed course racing, fragrances (forty bottles in his collection), watches, DIY projects, music, video games, sports, physical fitness, and cooking to name a few.
His wife Candace holds a dual M.B.A in Finance after graduating from Florida Technical University in 2013, prior to receiving her master’s she graduated from Mansfield University with a B.A in Accounting and Finance. Throughout her time at Mansfield, Candace was able to attend with a scholarship due to her All-American swim abilities.
What makes Mosquito Hunters business different from the competition is the Hurman’s experiences in life have helped them with business ownership and seeing things from a customer’s perspective. Each yard Mosquito Hunters treats is out of care and love. They care for each yard like it is their own.
