Lauren and Edgar Ramirez are the proud business owners of Mosquito Hunters of east Tomball-Klein, North Spring, Conroe and Humble. Lauren was born in Midland, Michigan and Edgar is originally from Santa Barbara, California. In 2015, Lauren moved to Santa Barbara County and soon met Edgar at Borderline, a popular country dance hall & music venue in Thousand Oaks. One loved the Ocean, the other loved the mountains; one was a great line dancer, the other struggled to make his boots work. Just a few short years later, they were married. In 2019 Lauren and Edgar welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Blakely. That same year, they visited Spring, Texas and instantly fell in love with the friendliness and strong family values in the community. They decided Spring would be the best place to raise Blakely and just about a year later, made the move to Spring.
Their appreciation of nature and the outdoors soon exposed them to the many species of mosquitoes in the area. Neither were prepared for the Texas sized swarms. “Folks will tell you our state bird out here in Texas, is the mosquito. We quickly came to understand why!”
In researching effective ways to keep mosquitoes out of their own yard, primarily to protect their daughter, they came across Mosquito Hunters. Lauren, with a successful career in sales and Edgar, with a successful career in mortgage lending and finance, and both with an entrepreneurial spirit, were instantly impressed with the business model and the brand commitment to impeccable customer service. They soon decided to embark on a new adventure and became owners, swapping business suits for mosquito hunter vests.
Our mission is to be the premier provider of mosquito control services in our area by using the most cutting-edge products and techniques on the market today as well as nurturing mosquito education through community interaction/outreach. It starts with helping our customers take back their yards using a tailored approach, including green products, when necessary, but on a broader scale involves mosquito reduction through community education. As vectors of diseases like West Nile Virus, Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya, Mosquitoes truly are the most dangerous animals in the world. Despite this title, we realized very few people take the time to learn about mosquitoes and how to prevent them. This is where the second part of our mission was born.
As avid foodies, when not working, the Ramirez’s can be found at one of the many local restaurants in the area sampling the vast local cuisine. Edgar enjoys riding dirt bikes while Lauren enjoys exploring parks with Blakely and early mornings to enjoy some quiet-time along with a morning stroll! Blakely’s favorite past time is feeding local ducks chopped lettuce where parks allow it and spending time with her local grandparents “PaPa and GaGa”
